RANA NIEJTA GODDESS WOODEN PENDANT - HAND BURNT

She is one of the spinners in Sami mythology. She is connected with spinning, the spinning wheel, the infinite cycle of life.

Rana Niejta, also known as Rana Neida, is a goddess of Sami culture. She is the Daughter of the Earth. Her name means "green fields" or "fertile lands". She is the goddess of spring and fertility.

She is said to be so powerful that she turned all the lands and hills in the south into green pastures full of fresh grass and flowers so that the reindeer could have plenty to eat.

Sacrifices dedicated to Rana Niejta were closely linked to spinning and the wheel, so blood was rubbed on a spinning wheel and placed on her altar.

Some say she may be a triple goddess, others that she forms a triad with two other goddesses. The reason for this is that in the stories she always appears together with a goddess called Sala Niejta (Daughter of the Sun) and Saivo Niejta (Daughter of the Underworld).

This representation of Rana Niejta is a recreation based on drawings found on Sami drums. I made this pendant in acacia wood from the nearby forests of northern Portugal, burning the figure of the goddess in a handmade way. Finished with natural wax and oil to nourish the wood and help your pendant stay with you for a long time.

Natural cotton cord is included.
